Airport terminal building upgrades
The Campbell River Airport recently underwent major upgrades. We have extended the runway to 6500 feet (from 5000) and have modernized the terminal building. We invite passengers and residents alike, to view the the new improvements to the terminal building. These include:
- An expanded departures area
- New dedicated Departures and Arrivals entrance doors
- Covered walkway with new outdoor entrance canopy
- Updated check-in counters
- An expanded passenger hold room with washrooms
- A revitalized and renovated café area
- Digital flight information boards throughout the building
- Better heating and cooling due to HVAC system improvements
- Wireless Internet WI-FI service throughout the terminal building
- Design elements featuring First Nations motifs and designs
- Thunderbird sculpture by Ken Blackburn and Bill Henderson
